I’ve decided to take the plunge and buy the dot com name for my WordPress blog. Now I am officially YesMissy.com! (I feel like a real blogger now
) I had originally wanted to wait until I was I more committed to my blog, but what the hell, why not? I’m pretty serious about it. It’s a fun hobby that’s quickly becoming very addicting. (And if I don’t snatch it up soon, someone else might – since someone has already snatched up yesmissy@gmail.com *grumble grumble*. )
To be completely honest, I started doing DIY projects and blogging to prevent me from feeding my shopaholic tendencies. I would by shoes, and clothes, and accessories, and nail polish, and makeup, and anything shiny, and dog toys and the list goes on and on. Although my true love was shopping, there were few benefits from it – it could lead to over flowing closets, credit card debt, hoarding, and all sorts of other terrible conditions. So in efforts to keep me occupied (and away from online shopping), I started doing little DIY projects and blogging. I think it’s been working pretty well for me – so far I think I’ve only bought 2 shirts and one pair of shoes this month, which is pretty damn good in my books.
Anyway, these past few weeks I’ve really been enjoying making DIY jewelry pieces. It’s really brought out a creative side in me that I’ve long forgotten about. When looking back at the end results of my little creations, I feel accomplished and rewarded. And let’s not forget all the lovely, kind feedback from y’all as well, which I oh-so-very-appreciate and cherish!
So, welcome to YesMissy.com. (ta-da!)

Yeah, I have been meaning to make mine a website too… but, taylormoseley.com is my professional website, and taylormoseleyjewelry.wordpress.com is my blog, and really they should be married together. My website, has a tab at the top that brings you to my blog, but I would like for them to be a “all together”. That’s how it should be; its more professional. Here’s an example of what I mean: Catherine Nicole is a jewelry designer here in Austin, TX. Her website and blog are all in one: http://www.catherinenicole.com/blog/
Thanks for posting this, b/c its probably time I start getting these combined myself!
Also, its nice that you have found a healthy outlet for your shopping fix.

I love both your sites! I feel like they both have enough content to stand individually, but I understand what you mean by having them under the same umbrella. But it looks like it would be difficult, is it possible for WordPress to be incorporated into a shop site like that? Thanks for sending me over Catherine Nicole’s blog, it’s really well designed and great inspiration! Cheers!

Congrats! I’ve been debating whether or not I should take the plunge, too. This might be a little push in that direction

Thank you! You should definitely take the plunge! twopurplecouches.com would be such a cute dot.com name to have! I would recommend you buy it straight from WordPress if you don’t have another other sites because it was such a hassle to buy the domain name then point it to WordPress, and then WordPress still charges you to allow you used your dot com name.

Thanks for the tip! I’ve been debating whether or not to buy through something like GoDaddy or through WordPress. If it’s a huge hassle, maybe it would be best to just go through WordPress. Good to know
Love your jewelry, by the way
