Day 2 Style Challenge: Cream sweater vest

I bought this sweater vest a few seasons ago, because it was so classicly cute.  It takes a step away traditional sweater vests with thinner shoulder straps to give it a more feminine shape. It’s be sitting in my closet for awhile, so the return of fall makes for perfect timing. (BTW: If you haven’t read my previous post, this style challenge is to wear 5 items from my closet that I rarely wear, so today’s item was this sweater vest )

This sweater vest had a real potential for looking overly preppy or pompus or a bit of both. I decided to keep it casual but wearing it over a crew neck white t and dark denim jeggings. I wore it with a pair of tall brown boots and skipped the jacket today.  Then I finished off with a Rebecca Minkoff cross body bag and a dark brown Alexander McQueen scarf.  And accessorized some simple gold jewelry to bring out the gold accents in the sweater vest buttons.
