Skincare Favorites of the Month
Skincare is the most important things that is part of my beauty routine. They say great skin is your best accessory and I firmly believe in that. For me, great skincare is the basis of all makeup. So here are a my skincare favorites from this past month.
I’ve used a few Guerlain products in the past, but wasn’t until I had a chance to attend the Back-to-School Beauty Masterclass in September did I start to get more familiar with their products. The Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil is a luxurious serum that plumps, smoothes, and illuminates. Bee products are some of the world’s most effective natural healing substances and the Abeillle Royale features Ouessant Black Bee Honey and Royal Jelly which leaves your skin feeling incredibly silky and baby-soft to the touch. It smells divine, and one of my favorite facial oils to date. It’s super lightweight and great job in plumping your skin making it look flawless. It’s definitely a splurge item but worth the hype.
This vitamin C serum is not only this month’s faves, but one of my all time faves for vitamin C serums. I the first time I used this was probably 5 years ago, and it’s a favorite I rediscovered last month. Vitamin C is not only necessary for collagen production and maintenance, but it is also a potent antioxidant that can neutralize free radicals damage to the skin. The CE Ferulic is on of my favorites because it also has vitamin E as well and works well with my sensitive skin. I noticed it leaves my skin brighter, smoother and more refined.
Here’s another Guerlain favorite on this month’s post, the KissKiss Liplift is a smoothing base in that smoothes and plumps the lips, so your lipstick goes on flawlessly and looks just perfect. It moisturizes and plumps the lips so that your lipstick stays put. When I apply my lipstick, my lips look fuller and smoother, making even my drugstore lipsticks look like a million bucks.
There are very few facials sunscreens that I actually give my approval to and this is one of them. Powered by coffee, this Origins sunscreen and tinted moisturizer leaves skin looking radiant, energized, and glowing. I find it lightweight and provides a light natural coverage on my skin and the slight tint gives my skin has a healthy glow. It works well under my makeup as well and stays pretty matte throughout the day.
About half a year ago, I rediscovered baths after exclusively showering for years and since then bath time has become one of favorite ways for some “me time”. BabyBeMine is a natural coconut bath that’s non-toxic and safe to use on babies and pregnant mama’s alike. BabyBeMine Natural Coconut Bath smells and feels just heavenly and made locally in London, ON. It leaves my skin so soft and moisturized and such a great little indulgence any time of the day. I love this product because I see that it works almost instantly. It’s a multi-action anti-aging serum that delivers results while being reasonably priced. Along with clinically proven results for the face and neck, it’s great for sensitive skin and hypoallergenic too! It has unique skin fortifying complex of calcium, amino acids and ceramides which are all essential nutrition to help your skin look and feel your best. (shown in photo below)
This smoothing primer from Guelrain instantly blurs the appearance of pores and smooths the texture of the skin while keep the skin matte for perfect skin all day long. It goes on like lotion, and I love its fresh and non-greasy texture, along with the classic lovely Guerlain scent.
This is a perfect sheer foundation for everyday! It’s really tricky to do the no-makeup makeup and this foundation is perfect for it. It goes on creamy but dries to a soft touchable finish. The texture is light and blends like nothing else. I just with they would come out with more shades, because it’s not a perfect match for my skin. Combined with the Guerlain Blurring Active Base my skin looks poreless and flawless!
These 2 Dior products make the ultimate highlighting and contouring combo. At the TIFF 2017 EGPR Essentials Lounge, they gave me a quick makeup lesson on how to use these 2 product together to create a natural contoured look and I’ve been obsessed with them since. The Flash Luminizer is luxe highlighter with most beautiful gleam without accentuating skin texture. You don’t need much, just a touch on the cheeks, nose, cupid’s bow and brow bone will give you an instant lift. The Fix It is actually a concealer, but when you pick a shade darker than your skin, it works very well as a contour product. It blends so well and creates a a natural and realistic depth and dimension.
Easily one the top 3 eyeliner in my books. I’ve used it in the past and loved it then and still love it now. It’s easy to use and works like a pen. The tip of the eyeliner being very narrow, allowing you can create a variety of cat eyes. It stays in place all day and doesn’t flake or peel, while still is also easily removable with makeup remover.
This scent is an Allure Best of Beauty award winner and I totally agree. The scent itself is a great mix between floral and a little woody/deeper which I love and perfect for the fall season. It’s a touch more on the bolder side and reminds me of walking through a rose garden in full bloom.
This is my 3rd YSL perfume and my current favorite! It’s also an Allure Best of Beauty award winner. The scent has as sparkling feminine feel with just a touch of floral and a nice sweetness. It’s not too heavy, so great for day time and every day wear.
