Street style look with rag and bone ripped denim, boots and hat, Ferragamo bag, Aritzia sweater, ray-bans

Street style with rag and bone hat, and ray ban sungalsses

I love shopping and adding new pieces to my wardrobe as much as any girl, but for all the day to day stuff I keep a pretty minimal wardrobe. Over the last few years of my life I’ve gone through 4 moves in 5 years (1 cross country), and have travelled several times for 3+ weeks with only a carry-on luggage. This has taught me a lot about streamlining my wardrobe and the beauty of simplicity and minimalism. Though my journeys, I’ve learned that less is more and loving what you have in your closet is so much more important that have lots and lots of nothing you’ll never wear.

5 Everyday Fashion Essentials for your Wardrobe

1. Skinny Black Jeans

A great pair of of skinny black jeans can take you almost anywhere. They’re versatile enough so that you can dress them up or down by pairing them with everything from the elegant blouse to a plain white t-shirt. My favourite are these Rag and Bone ripped denim. They’re effortlessly chic and and so comfortable that they’ve travelled the world with me.

2. Black Ankle Boots

Like a great pair of black skinnies, a solid pair of black ankle boots are a staple for any wardrobe. When it comes to shoes I always say make the investment and spend the money. While style is important, quality and comfort are key to making sure you’ll actually wear your boots (because God knows how many pair for beautiful, but uncomfortable shoes we all own and never wear), as well making sure they’ll last.  Can you believe I’ve had these Rag and Bone Newbury Boots for almost 3 years? They’re my go to boots and I wear them all the time. But with proper care, I have to say they’re still in pretty darn good shape.

3.  A Well Fitted Hat

Rainy day, windy day, bad hair day? This is my chic solution. A good hat is so handy to have when travelling, or if you just want to look cool. This Rag and Bone Fedora is my go-to hat. It protects my hairstyle from rain, wind, and humidity all while being the perfect accessory.

4. Sunglasses

When you’re too lazy for a makeup a good pair of sunnies will pull you together. Thrown on a pair of sunglasses and little lipstick and you’re ready to go. My everyday pair are the Ray-Ban Clubmasters. They are a classic style that has a perfect blend of old school and new school.

5. A Functional Bag

Nothing like a good hand bag to finish off a look. Personally, I like to travel light,  so this Ferragamo Cross Body Bag is perfect for me. It fits my basic necessities: wallet, phone and lipstick. But depending on your style, you might need something a little bigger to have it be functional enough hold other day-to-day items. What I love about this little bag is it takes me from day to night easily, and coverts to both a clutch and a fanny pack (though I can’t say I’ve ever worn it as one.  😛 )
