Call me old fashioned, but I love snail mail! But lately for me it’s been all bills and boring government letters. So in December when I discovered the Lovely Letters Snail Mail Exchange on Local Adventurer, I thought it was a brilliant idea and signed up immediately! The idea behind it is to connect with other bloggers and build new relationships and friendships by sending Lovely Letters and packages all across the globe. It’s a wonderful project promotes encouragement, collaboration, friendship, and growth as individuals and as a blogging community.

So for the December Lovely Letters, I was so excited paired up with Esther from Local Adventurer. She’s a travel/lifestyle blogger and photographer, which goes just hand in hand because her blog is full all her adventures and of course, beautiful pictures to go along with it.

Here are the lovely cards she sent me: Lovely Letters Exchange Lovely Letters Exchange

And here are the cards I sent her:  Lovely Letters Exchange

I love that me and Esther were paired together as we share the same appetite for travel and new experiences. It was great getting to know her and I’m definitely signing up again for another round!

    • Your hubby is a keeper! Isn’t it the best feeling when you get a little surprise note?

  • Rebecca Swenor

This sounds like an awesome idea for the blogger community. I think everybody loves receiving snail mail. Thanks for sharing.

  • Those are such beautiful cards! I’ll have to look into joining this when I am back home in the US- mail over here in Sweden is so difficult to send/receive.

I snail mailed for years, I love the whimsical sense of receiving something in the post. The cards you received are so lovely!

I haven’t heard this before, I always use gmail only but this is looks great and idea.

  • What a sweet idea!

  • Snail mails really have a more special touch especially if the cards or letters are personalized. It’s nice that there are exchanged like this so people can appreciate the though that comes with snail mails.

  • Erin

I need to sign up for this! With the popularity and ease of email, all I ever get in the mailbox are bills. It’s a bit depressing. Getting letters from all over the world once a month would be such an exciting thing!

One of the many things I love about the holidays is all the Christmas cards I receive in the mail. It’s so nice getting actual letter for a change! I’ve seen this exchange before, but I haven’t gotten a chance to actually look into it. I really should!

    • You definitely should! It’s a great way to connect with other bloggers as well!

  • Those look so awesome I missed the december one but starting again this month

  • Courtney

Awwww these are so pretty!!!! I love snail mail as well!!! Besides all the review boxes I get daily, the rest is always bills… It would be nice to open a cute card or something chic like this 😉

  • Its so much fun to get snail mail instead of just bills lol. Since everyone is using the computer these days, I seldom get anything in the mail except bills. I get over 1000 every other day and it gets kind of annoying so I don’t check most of it. Snail mail that I could hold and open would be much better :).

    • I feel exactly the same! Bills are just the opposite as getting a nice letter or card! lol

  • What a lovely concept and sentiment. I will look into this! It could be fun to get some pretty snailmail!

  • Sara-Jayne Jones

I just love getting letters in the mail and snail mail is such an unpopular way of communication nowadays, it’s sad. I would love to join in but I’m in the UK.

    • I know, this year I only received one other Christmas card in the mail. It was a little sad. I think you’re still able to sign up even if you’re in the UK!

  • So happy we could get to know each other better through lovely letters & i know a few other ladies who i think would love to get to know you too! <3

    • Thanks for putting this on every month! I didn’t sign up for January because I’ll be travelling back to my hometown, but I’m definitely going to sign up for next Feb!

  • Sharon Ulery Ruggieri

What a wonderful idea! I have always loved getting cards and letters in the mail too so this would be a blast!

  • Thanks Candice! It was a great experience and so much fun!

  • Enjoli

  • Paula – Buenos Aires

Such a lovely idea, to go back to the handwritten word. The cards are all beautiful! Warm, rich colours and elegant designs.

  • Facades and Nuances

This sounds like such a fantastic idea! I will definitely participate next month!

  • Kat B.

This is so lovely. I wish everyone would join something like this and stay connected in a whole new (old) way.
