OOTD’s, Eats, Beauty Faves & Adventures

Spring Style #OOTD: Aritizia, Ferragamo, Kylie+Kendall,

April went by in a blink of and eye, and there’s really so much that goes on behind the scenes here at YesMissy I thought I would start doing a monthly recap of all the fun things I do, wear and eat, but I don’t always get a chance to blog about. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll get more of a peek into my life, but with the nature of the platform it’s not really a place where I get to actually write and share my thoughts.

So to start things off, I have this transitional spring outfit that’s a little bit of winter and a little bit of spring too. The weather here had in Toronto remained pretty cool through the month of April to say the least. We even had a surprise snow and ice storm. So deal with that nonsense, I’ve paired these Springy pink crepe trousers with a winter-ready ribbed white turtle neck sweater and topped it off fuzzy pink vest to add a bit of coziness!

Food flatlay: Foodee x La Cubana Giveaway ...more at yesmissy.com

Giveaway with Foodee x La Cubana

I’m also running a giveaway for $100 gift card for La Cubana in partnership with Foodee on my Instagram that’s going on right now! The contest close date will be May 7th, 2018, so you still have a few days to enter! If you live in the Toronto area and haven’t tried La Cubana, it’s a real gem. La Cubana is a Cuban inspired diner with vibrant, fun interiors and the most delicious food! I’m lucky to live not so far from their location on Ossington and the diner has become a local fave for both me and my hubby.

Above is the spread me and hubby attempted to eat for lunch at our last visit. (And I say attempted we got just a little over half way, but they no complaints for eating these leftovers for dinner.) At the top of the photo, is their Avocado Salad that’s both healthy and refreshing. In the middle, starting from the left is the Yucca Fritas, a delicious and healthier alternative to traditional potato fries. Then in the middle is the Pork Belly Medianoche, a tasty sandwich with deep friend pork belly and pineapple salsa and one of my personal faves! And to the right of that are their butter milk donuts which are just to die for At the bottom right is the Pork Should Cuban Plate, which is slow roasted with molasses brown sugar and grainy mustard and served with red cabbage, rice and beans, and tostones, so if you’re hungry this will definitely hit the spot! They also have great Cuban inspired drinks as well, the bottom left is the Raspberry Lime Rickey and the top right is Mango Colada.

In addition to the great food, they have the most darling interiors. Walled with teal subway tiles are accented with decorative Spanish styled patterned patterned floor, it’s certain for an Instagrammable moment.

Spring #OOTD with yellow floral romper and denim jacket from BooHoo.. more at yesmissy.com

Spring OOTD

This past month I also had the opportunity to team up with Boohoo to style a two spring floral looks and announce the Zendaya Edit collection. With the weather warming up for a just few days in April I was able to actually wear a more Spring-y outfit, but not quite, because I would have still frozen without these grey suede OTK books. But with better weather in sight, I’ve started to retired my winter gear and this mustard floral romper and denim jacket was the perfect pairing to say hello to Spring. Beauty Flatlay: GIvenchy Makeup Icons - PRISME LIBRE, lipstick and lip balm ...more at yesmissy.com

Givenchy Makeup Icons

I also got to try out a few beauty products from Givenchy which I absolutely fell in love with. The first was the Prisme Libre Loose Powder, which is a loose powder with a fusion of four complimentary, complexion-refining shades that create a flawless color-correcting finish. I was absolutely amazed with product, it literally made my pores disappear and improved the texture of my skin magic, and kept my face looking that way all day long.

I also had a chance to try their Le Rouge Perfecto Beautifying Lip Balm which is a moisturizing lip balm that leaves your lips fuller with a soft natural finish. Like all Givenchy products, it was packaged beautifully encased in a gorgeous light pink genuine leather sheath, making it the perfect beauty accessory.

And of course nothing says makeup icon like the Givenchy Le Rouge Lipstick. Richly-hued and perfectly creamy, the lightweight formula glides on like a dream – soft, smooth, and saturated with intense-yet-wearable pigments.

In this flatlay you’ll also see few of my other fashion faves and accessories my marble Caseapp skin, Daniel Wellington Classic Petite watch, and ZAC Zac Posen Eartha Mini Bag.

Ste. Annes Spa Getaway

Weekend Getaway to Ste. Anne’s Spa

This month, we and my hubby had a chance to take a much needed weekend getaway to Ste. Anne’s Spa. It’s a darling escape from the city, and only about a 2 hour drive outside Downtown Toronto. It has a casual and rustic atmosphere, much like a a friend’s casual country home where you can relax and laid back setting and lounge in your robe all day long. They offer meals, classes and spa services, so your whole day is taken care of and all you have to do is enjoy the experience. I’m so excited to be going back again this month (May) for a girls trip!

Foodie: Brunch at the Broadview Hotel... more at yesmissy.com

Brunch at the Broadview Hotel

After seeing so many pictures on Instagram of the newly renovated Broadview Hotel, I finally had a chance to stop in for brunch. The Broadview Hotel is a boutique hotel located in Toronto’s east end, that was originally built in 1891 and has had a colourful history that’s made it a landmark in the area. It was renovated and reopened about a year ago, and I’ve been wanting to visit it since. The character of the hotel blends timeless elements with eclectic accents to create a modern, yet classic atmosphere. They have 3 dining areas including the Cafe + Bar (photo above), the Civic – graceful restaurant setting, and a beautiful roof top dining area with one of the most stunning views of the Toronto skyline.

Athleisure #OOTD from Yoga Club Box

Yoga Club Box

For those of you who know me well, you’ll already know I’m an absolute fitness addict. I enjoy my workouts as much as I enjoy my meals. So it goes without saying you’ll catch me in real life wearing yoga/althleisure gear more often than not. This month, I had a chance to team up with Yoga Club Box, which is a subscription service that curates a full outfit for you on a monthly basis. They offer brand name athletic wear for up to 50% off retail and here’s the outfit they styled for me this month.

Each Yoga Club box comes with a curated 3-piece outfit and the pieces in my box this month came from light weight hoodie Splendid, a sports bra from @threads4thought & leggings from MPG Sport. And YogaClub isn’t just about cute clothes, they’re also making a difference! Each box purchased provides a yoga class for a child in need! One box, one class! Monochrome Flatlay: featuring Daniel Wellington watch, Korres skincare, Ideal of Sweden phone case, Ked's Shoes, Guerlain Lipstick, Bon Look glasses ...more at yesmissy.com

Beauty and Accessory Faves

Earlier in the month, I attended to the Guerlain Rouge G event where they were launching the Guerlain Rouge G customizable Lipstick and I had a chance design my very own Rouge G Lipstick! This is Guerlain’s first customize lipstick with a double mirror, where you can choose your shade and then pick from a choice of 15+ cases to create your own personalized lipstick. You can see in the top left of the the photo, I went for the N°555 – deep plum shade and paired it with the playful lace French Mademoiselle case. And as a special bonus even had my lipstick personalized with an engravining of my name. The lipstick itself goes on so smooth and rich, and it’s the most beautiful shade of dark plum and I love the idea you that you can make it all your own by choosing your case.

Off to the right you’ll find my BonLook glasses, which are an accessory necessity for my day to day life. Not only do they help me see better, but I love their chic looks and they make the perfect photo prop. Best of all, BonLook have frames dedicated to petites which is perfect for the dainty headed like me. I also love the blue light lens feature, where the lenses contain light-absorbing molecules able to protect against the harmful effects of blue light from computer screens, phones and tv’s.  This helps soothe their tired eyes, reduce the impact of light to your sleep cycle and prevent potential eye diseases.

Below that have been two new Korres skincare products from their Black Pine line which I’m quite obsessed with right now.  They’re products are derived from natural plant ingredients and have a strict against animal testing policy. I’ve been using the 3D Sculpting, Firming & Lifting Power Day Facial and 3D Sculpting & Firming Sleeping Oil, and both are boosted with ElastiLift-3DTM complex and black pine polyphenols to help support natural skin elasticity, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and improve the appearance of facial contours.

And you can’t go wrong with the classic look of Daniel Wellington watches, my collection keeps growing and this handsome black and silver number is the latest addition. I’ve really been liking the smaller faces recently, they’re so dainty and feminine. Get 15% off off your purchase at Daniel Wellington with code YESMISSY15.

Peeking in from the top right, I have my black Ked’s sneakers which have been the perfect Spring staple. I’ve been wearing them day-in and day-out, and they go with everything from spring dresses to denim.

Ideal of Sweden held event in at the Collette Grand Cafe earlier this month where I can a chance to check out their spring collection which featured fun florals of every kind. In this flatlay, you can see the Mysterious Jungle case with a fun tropical floral print and in one of the other beauty flatlays below you’ll see the Peony Garden case with floral blooms on a black background.

Beauty Blogger Yesmissy: YSL Volupte Lip Balm

Volupté Liquid Colour Balm

In April, I also teamed up with YSLBeauty for the launch of their new Volupté Liquid Colour Balm. I’ve been all about lipsticks lately, so using a lip gloss was a refreshing change. The formula feels great on my lips and provides a medium coverage with a high shine finish and protects lips like a balm, so say hello luscious lips all day long!

Beauty Flatlay: Nina Ricci Les Montres Luna Nina perfume launch

Nina Ricci Les Montres

Earlier in the month, I attended the Nina Ricci Les Montres event at Calii Love. These new fragrances were developed in collaboration with the Brazilian pop music artists Ana Strumpf and Guto Requena and the usual Nina and Luna variations of the Les Belles de Nina’s iconic apple have been transformed into irresistible little playful monsters. The fragrances have also got an overhaul to match their new bottles. Nina has become a sparkling pear scent with candyfloss, while Luna is now features pineapple fused with lime.

Beauty Flatlay - TON cosmetics, Ideal of Sweden, Pixi, Jo Molone and more

More Beauty Faves

I can never really get enough of lippies, and these are some new ones I’ve just added to my collection from a Canadian brand called TON cosmetics. What’s unique about them is they help find your your perfect shade of nude or red based on your skin tone. The formula is ultra-hydrating, comfortable to wear with a soft shine shine and buildable colour.

I’ve also been testing out the Pixi Pretties palettes by influencers Weylie, Chloe Morello, and Dulce candy too. My favorite has been the Dulce Candy Cafe Con Dulce with multi-use powders you can use as blush, highlighter or eyeshadow.

In the top right, you’ll see another one of the Garden Peony case from Ideal of Sweden’s the spring collection which I mentioned earlier. And speaking of flowers, you’ll also spot the Jo Malone Red Roses Cologne off to the right in the photo above. It smells just heavenly like roses in full bloom!

So much nice stuff in just one blog post, this is why I’m a fan of this platform. First off, that’s an incredible and appetizing offer and I’m sure I would pretty much devour what you’ve ordered up there in an instant. Second, your fashion picks are amazing, I can literal see the winter and spring style even without you naming the descriptions. Lastly, I’m a complete fan of how you wear these especially your actual OOTD for Spring.
