Sweater Weather is Better Weather

Fall is officially here, but you wouldn’t know it if you were in Toronto right now. This week we’ve been having a warm spell with temperatures in the upper 20’s (mid 70’s for my American friends), but I’m not complaining, I know we have a long Canadian winter ahead of us. 😢   Meanwhile, this unseasonably warm weather has given me some extra time to shop and get ready for the fall and winter season while still enjoying my summer clothes just a bit longer.

I actually wore this outfit a week ago, then the weather was acting more seasonably. This all-black fall look includes a couple of trends from this season’s style essentials post, which are the bell sleeve sweater, essential skinny jean, and a black bootie, all of which can mix and match with other wardrobe separates for lots of wear this season.

Fall OOTD: bell sleeve sweater and skinny jeans

I’ve been loving the bell sleeve trend all spring and summer so I love how the trend has transitioned from boho tops to cozy sweaters for the fall and winter. This cute bell sleeve sweater is from Shein and only $21, which is a great price for a sweater. It’s a fairly heavy knit with a roomy body and a drop shoulder, but it’s the bell sleeves just give it that flare to make it an eye catching statement piece that will keep you cozy and turn heads.  The ripped black skinny jeans are another well priced item from Shein and only $15. They’re fairly stretchy and comfortable with a mid rise waist and rips around the knees and thighs. The two are both great pieces to have for any fall wardrobe and will work well into the winter as well.

To finish this look off, I added a wool floppy hat from J.Crew that I got last season and been dying to pull out again. The chic suede ankle booties are Marc Fisher, which I just got them from Amazon after having my eye on them for a month. I’m absolutely obsessed with them because they have the perfect block heel combined with a pointy toe, which makes me look at least half a foot taller in my opinion. Then I added my fave little cross-body mini bag from Ferragamo, which another one of my wardrobe staples.
