5 Ways to Use Bio-Oil for Hair

1. Use Bio-Oil on hair to prevent and treat split ends
If you suffer from dry hair or brittle ends, Bio-Oil can be used to help treat it. Thanks to its lightweight consistency, Bio-Oil is the perfect hair treatment for hydrating dry hair and treating split ends.
Just apply a drop to your finger tips and apply Bio-Oil on hair by lightly touch the ends and wherever else you need a little extra hydration and care.
2. Using Bio-Oil to tame frizz and flyaways
On humid days, the last thing you wand to do is use hair spray and make your hair feel even more sticky.
Using Bio-Oil on hair is a much better alternative, rub a drop or two between your palms and smooth over strands to tame frizz and pesky flyaways to create a sleek hair style.
3. Moisturizing an Dry or Itchy Scalp
Anything from over-washing your hair to drying products like dry shampoo can cause your scalp to get itchy from being too dry. And even worse, if it’s consistently dry, you’ll start to get flakes and that’s not a good look for anyone.
Just one of the Bio-Oil benefits is its ability to moisturize. Sooth your dry scalp by massaging a few drops of Bio-Oil into your hair at the scalp or adding a few to your shampoo or conditioner. You’ll find that it will help to hydrate and calm your scalp right down.

4. Using Bio-Oil as a Hair Treatment Mask
If your hair is feeling extra dry, give it a little extra TLC with an overnight hair mask with Bio-Oil.
Massage some Bio-Oil in hair before you go to bed, and wash it out in the morning for an extra dose of moisture and hydration.
Make sure you sleep on a towel so it won’t transfer to your pillow cases. And if you don’t want a lighter conditioning, you can also just do it 15 minutes before you shower and wash it out then.
5. Protect Your Hair Chlorine and Salt Water
Don’t let you hair soak up chlorine and salt, not only is it damaging, it turns your hair brassy and ruins your hair colour.
Use Bio-Oil in hair by placing a few drops in your hands and run them through you hair before taking a dip in the pool to keep your hair protected while swimming.

May 21, 2020I used Bio oil on my baby bump in pregnancy – it’s supposed to stop the itching and stretch marks, but I think you can’t really avoid the stretch marks, haha! I never thought of using it for my hair! The scent reminds me of pregnancy now!
Hope you are having a good week 🙂 It’s a bit cold here – winter has arrived a week early!

May 22, 2020Oh yes, it’s great for pregnancy and stretch marks but you can use it for so many other things too, hair being one of them. I also love it as a cuticle treatment since my hands have been so dry from hand washing. Hope you have a lovely week too! Stay warm!

July 7, 2021Hello, Eileen! Just curious, is it safe to use on scalp? Have u ever try it? I’m gonna try it but I’m afraid it will damage my hair follicle..

July 10, 2021Hi Stella, I haven’t used it on my scalp. I’m quite sure it would be fine. It’s meant for skin, but if you’re unsure maybe test a small area.
