Embracing Change and Why It’s Good for You

The change of seasons has inspired me to write this post on embracing changes... Summer floral maxi dress from Shein

You know the saying, “the only thing constant is change.” It’s a quote about changes that is very true, life is constantly changing, the seasons change, your situation changes, and just about everything in between is always changing. In this past year I’ve been through many changes myself, in my personal life, work life, health, and family, and even with my blog. The impermanence of life is one of the things that make it so beautiful and unique. Many of these have been very positive changes and some of them, well, haven’t been ideal, but every single one of them have allowed me to grow in ways that I’ve never thought of.

And with the upcoming season change from summer to fall, I thought it would be fitting to talk a little about to embracing changes, both positive and seemingly negative changes, and how to welcome them in your life so you’ll always be moving forward. I know first hand that change isn’t easy. But the truth is, it’s part of the forward progression in life and embracing it rather than fighting it will always be better in the long run.

Change Happens No Matter What

I know we can all agree that change is difficult, but also change is important. Change is hard because your brain is wired to do the same thing over and over, regardless if that activity is good or bad for you. Sometimes you do things for so long you don’t even know why you do them any more.

We also know how challenging it can be to go through change, but the positive consequence can be really awesome. I fully believe change is good for you. Even when it seems tough, you are learning and growing as a person. Change can happen slowly or overnight, either way, try not to fixate on the things you can’t make a difference on. Change management is about learning to find acceptance, and that is definitely a lesson that takes time. But just like everything else in life with a little practice and patiences you will discover that focusing your time on things you can control will result in growth and resilience. It’s all about personality development, you need to learn to be flexible enough to go to with the flow, while keeping your eye on the goal.

Embracing Change and looking at it as an opportunity

It’s typical when we get in routine of doing things, we rarely venture to try new things. But with change, it forces you out of your comfort zone, your assumptions get challenges and so do your opinions, mindset, and routine of life. You must find a new way do to things and look at things, and the biggest change often provides a new chance to reevaluate what you really want out of your life.

It’s human nature is to focus on how change can negatively affect you. We often forget is how much of a positive opportunity change can present. Remember that your mindset is everything, how you look at the change will determine how it effects you. Instead of looking at how is disrupts your life, look at the doors it opens and how you can take advantage of it. Whether it’s as small change in your work schedule or as big as moving across the country, the possibility is all up to you.

  1. I love that you make change sound empowering! Change scares so many I can imagine the mindset change if we seen change as a positive.

This is a pretty, summery, classy dress and necklace and looks beautiful on you. The post is a great reminder to view change as a positive thing and be flexible. Some people have such difficulty with change and it can create lots of anxiety. Change isn’t always a negative thing.
