On a day-to-day basis, I’m a corporate gal doing the regular 9 to 5. And quite honestly, dressing for the office can be a struggle. There’s a need to look professional, but also the need to get creative, as well as feel comfortable, because sitting in tight high waisted pants through a long meeting is not fun. So for this lookbook edition, I thought I’d share some of my favourite office outfits looks that I’ve worn the past month as a little inspo for you, and well as a reminder for me on those days I wake up and can’t seem to put an outfit together.
This office outfit is actually one that I took from day to night to attend an event after work. Originally worn without the cap, with my work tote bag (that purple one you’ll see a few pics down) and classic black suede pumps, this turtleneck, blazer, and skirt combo was a perfectly professional outfit for the office, but maybe a little boring for going out.
It was however the perfect foundation for a great outfit in the making, and by swapping out my work tote for this fun floral mini bag, and adding a cap, then finishing the look off with a pair OTK boots, that gave it oomph it needed.
This white turtle neck has actually been a great office staple I’ve been wearing on repeat all month. I actually wear it in 2 other outfits in this lookbook, so keep in eye out for it! It’s a piece I’d highly recommend as it’s a great basic that’s well priced at $19, and has that great accents like the button detail on the sleeves.
Top: Button Cuff Slim Fit Turtleneck c/o Shein
Bottom: Asymmetrical Checkered Skirt c/o Shein
Accessories: Hue Tights from Amazon
Bag: Eartha Mini Bag from ZAC Zac Posen
Shoes: OTK boots from Steve Madden
This outfit is from the Evernew’s Fall/Winter collection and gives modern take on the classic pencil skirt and blouse. This faux leather pencil skirt is a perfectly appropriate length for the office, while the material gives it an edgier vibe. This blouse has the most beautiful floral print, it has dainty details like the loop buttons and puff sleeves so that can also easily be taken from day to night.
The black pencil skirt is the foundational piece of any workwear wardrobe, and this one has an added bit of fun with its ruffle pinafore straps. Best of all these straps are removable, so if you need something more classic, you can wear the skirt just on its own as well. Here I’ve paired it with my staple white turtleneck (appearance #2).
This office look is a little more playful, with this puff sleeve top and pink pants, but also quite elegant I find. I love the puff sleeve trend and this blouse has just the perfect amount of puff to it!
This plaid vest dress is such a great piece for the office. This is an item I’m sure you’ve been me wear a number of times (if you follow me on Instagram) because it’s just one of those pieces that has so much flexibility. It’s a versatile piece that you can wear as a dress or as a vest over both pants or other dresses. You can even belt it and give it a whole new look! As for the rest of the outfit, I’ve kept it pretty simple pairing it with a white turtleneck (appearance #3) and black OTK boots along with my every day office tote.
This white pencil dress is another one of my office wardrobe staples. Just wearing it with any blazer or jacket on top makes a quick polished look that gets me out the door in 5 minutes. Much like the little black dress, this little white dress has been a key foundation piece for me.
Here I’ve worn this office dress with a trench from Evenew and some pointed toe slingbacks from Zara. It’s a great minimalist look that’s one of my go-to outfits when I need to get ready quick while looking polished.
This outfit is a little casual Friday I’d say, only since I’ve paired it with white jeans. but with a pair of slacks this peplum top could easily be a great piece for the work week as well.
Here’s that white dress again! And how easy it was to change up the whole look with a new jacket and shoes. You can see why this is one of my go to outfit combos!
