Sorry it’s been a little quiet on the blog! At the beginning of this month we moved into our new home. It’s been so exciting, and bit tiring I’ll admit, but we’re really enjoying our new space.
I loved our condo, but we just needed more room since both me and the hubby both work from home. We had explored options of moving out of downtown Toronto, but in the end we were able to find a great townhouse fairly close to where were previously.
So far, I’m finding the location to be great. Our home is located in a small pocket that’s little more neighbourhoody but just a short walk away from shops and restaurants. So it’s the best of both worlds! Plus, it’s just a quick 15 minute commute to the financial district where I’ll be going back to work sometime in the future.
Our new home is a 5 floor townhouse – and coming from a condo – the stairs were quite the daily workout. It took a little bit of getting used to, but now I appreciate the extra exercise I get throughout the day.
We have some renos in mind for the place, which are in the planning stag right now. Two of the bathrooms and the kitchen will need an update. We also have some minor things as well, such as some painting and changing out some of the light fixtures.
In the meantime, I’m in the process of putting my office together. It’s been a long time since I’ve had my own space so I’m really excited decorate it! So far I I’ve just received my desk, and I’ll need to order some shelving and storage units too.
One of the favourite features of our home is the rooftop patio. I spent the better half of this afternoon scrubbing it down. I’m looking forward to spending more time out there this summer!
The picture above is the view from our living room. I’m loving all the greenery we have around us. It’s so nice to walk around the neighbourhood and there’s even an off leash dog park just across the street from us.
You might be wondering why I haven’t taken any pictures of the interior of our new home. And that’s because it’s mostly unfurnished and littered with boxes.
But I promise once things start coming together, I’ll be sure to share! In the meantime, I have been sharing some behind the scenes on Instagram stories, so check out the highlights here and follow me @yesmissy so you won’t miss out!
