It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve done a beauty post on the blog, and more specifically a skincare post. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been trying out as many skincare products as always!
Being the skincare junkie I am, I’ve probably had even more opportunities to try out so many more skincare products this past year since I’ve been at home and bored.
In this round up, I’m sharing some of the top new products that I’ve come across this year and fell in love with both in video form and blog form!
I’ve been wanting to do more videos both on YouTube and on Instagram, but the learning curve has been such a barrier for me. I finally got a new phone for my birthday back in November, so I’ve been giving video creation another shot.
Check out my top skincare favorites that I discovered this past year!

1. Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil
Biossance is a new clean beauty brand that I was introduced to this year. They’re best known for their plant-based squalane skincare line that is natural, effective and safe.
So what’s Squalane you ask? It’s a skincare ingredient that’s been rising in popularity and been popping up in a lot skincare products. Its benefits include moisturizing the skin, managing stubborn acne, and even antioxidant properties.
I’ve tried out several of Biossance products including their Squalane + 10% Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum, Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream, and Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer. And found instantly fell in love with their effective formulas along with the ethos of the brand.
The Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil became an instant favourite for me. Vitamin C serums are my favourite type of serum because it’s multi-talented antioxidant that does everything from brighten the skin, reduce hyperpigmentation, the appearance of pores, improve fine lines and wrinkles.
The Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil is hydrating vitamin C oil for all skin types that visibly brightens and firms, revealing radiant-looking skin. I love how this oil leaves my skin exceptionally soft, smooth and glowing.
2. Glow Recipe Watermelon Niacinamide Dew Drops
Glow Recipe is one of my favorite clean beauty brands, and the Glow Recipe Watermelon Niacinamide Dew Drops is a new launch for this year.
This multi-use highlighting serum is one that hydrates and visibly reduces the look of hyperpigmentation while giving you dewy, reflective glow.
Niacinamide has a hot ingredient this past year. It’s basically Vitamin B3 which acts like an antioxidant to visibly reduce hyperpigmentation, correct the look of dullness, and minimize the appearance of pores.
I also love that how the Watermelon Niacinamide Dew Drops contains Hyalauronic acid which helps keeps skin looking hydrated and bouncy. This procduct has been a must for me in the winter when the air is so dry!
3. Vivier Ultimage
Vivier is a Canadian skincare company that creates effective skincare to prepare, target, moisturize and protect your skin. I’ve been a fan of their brand for awhile and have used quite a number of their products from their Vitamin C’s to sunscreens,
Ultimage is a new serum they launched this year and an innovative dual-action complex with both Neuropeptides and Hyaluronic Acid. It works to enhanced the water content in your skin by with water binding molecules and glycol technology.
I love how plump my skin looks after using it and how it gives a boost of hydration to smooth my complexion.
4. Alya Skin Foaming Micellar Cleanser
You’re probably familiar with the Alya Skin Pink Clay Mask, which is a cult beauty fave and another favourite of mine as well! But this year they they’ve added to the Foaming Micellar Cleanser to their lineup and I love it!
The Alya Skin Foaming Micellar Cleanser is a gentle foaming cleanser, that removes makeup and dirt without over drying skin. It leaves my skin so soft after I use it and I love how gentle it is for my sensitive skin.
It contains Kaolin clay removes toxins, pollutants and nasties from your skin. It’s designed to detox and brighten skin while tightens your skin’s pores. Bonus, it has a light refreshing scent that is so lovely to wake up to and makes face washing a delight!
5. AlumierMD Sheer Hydration Sunscreen
This one is an old favourite for me. The Alumier MD Sheer Hydration Sunscreen is a sunscreen and moisturizer in one that has a hydrating formula and provides sheer healthy glow to the skin.
It blends beautifully into the skin without that white cast that many physical sunscreens do. Plus it contains free-radical-quenching antioxidants including vitamin C and vitamin E. This formula is Paraben and sulfate free, as well as cruelty free, and safe for coral reefs.
6. Fancy Face Supermodel Lip Bath
I feel like the lips often get neglected when it comes to skincare. So this one is one the lips!
The Fancy Face Supermodel Lip Bath is an ultra luxe treat for the lips. It contains ultra-rich ingredients like shea butter, vitamin e & castor oil to nourish the lips.
My lips look and feel instantly plumper when I use it. I love putting it on when I start my makeup routine and by the time I’m done my lips look ready to go!
It leaves your lips with a gorgeous high gloss shine. Plus the cute macaron shaped holder with the lip brush just makes as cute as it practical.
