Sharing the recent additions to my spring basics wardrobe
Though there still might be snow on the ground here in Toronto, the days feeling longer and I know spring is on its way!
My office is planning to open up for work again soon and many restrictions being lifted at the end of this month. So I thought would be a good time to update my wardrobe with some new spring basics and staples.
With our recent renovations, I opted for some budget friendly options for this season – that I’m actually super happy with! So I thought I’d share them with you here today!
1. Straight Leg Pants
My workwear wardrobe definitely needed a bit of an update. Many of my workwear pants are skinny, cigarette style, or just black – which are timeless of course. But I wanted get some new pants with a more updated fit and style.
These brown straight leg pants are a dream and looks so flattering on. It has a front seam detail that adds to that leg lengthening factor. Plus, they’re a steal for $25!
They came in 4 colours but they’re almost sold out. Below are a few similar options.
2. Wide Leg Trouser Pants
DAZY Wide Leg Pants c/o SHEIN
Cream Mock Neck Ribbed Top c/o SHEIN
Chunky Sneaker from SHEIN
Small Loulou Bag from Saint Laurent
These pants from SHEIN are a great Aritzia Effortless Pant dupe! It has a very similar fit with a pleated front with wide leg. Though the fabric isn’t crepe, it’s a soft cozy blend that makes it super comfy to wear.
I’ve been a skinny jean/pant girl for so longI thought I would never wear wide or baggy pants. But here I am, obsessed with these wide leg pants! I’m wearing them with some chunky sneakers here, but I’ve styled them in dressier workwear looks too and look so polished too!
3. Camel Blazer
Faux Leather Shorts c/o SHEIN
White Mock Neck Tee from Artizia
Camel Double Breasted Blazer c/o SHEIN
Chunky Loafer from SHEIN
Wallet on Chain Bag from Chanel
This camel blazer is hands down probably one of the best buys ever. For $40 this blazer looks so much more expensive than it is.
I’ve actually had this blazer for 2 years and it’s still going strong. I’m actually thinking of repurchasing it just because I love it so much. It’s definitely a wardrobe basic that you can wear year round.
4. Chunky Loafers
So chunky loafers are a little bit trendy, but I feel like it’s a trend I would get my wears out of being shoes.
I had been resisting chunky loafers for awhile with it being winter and boot season. But with spring coming, I think they’ll be a versatile shoe to wear with a variety of bottoms from shorts and skirts to trousers.
5. Spring Swing Dress
You can’t welcome spring without a fun little dress like this one! A swing dress like this makes a great spring basic and is easy to dress up or down, plus it’s super comfy to wear.
7. Cozy Loungewear Set
Loungewear has become a staple for our wardrobes that’s here to stay. And I’m particularly all about loungewear sets! They just make everything look so much more pulled together.
This 3 piece set made from chenille is the absolute coziest and looks so chic too!
8. Faux Leather Shorts
Faux Leather Shorts c/o SHEIN
Cream Mock Neck Ribbed Top c/o SHEIN
Knee High Boots c/o VIVIAIA
Wallet on Chain from Chanel
Floppy Hat from Rag and Bone
Faux leather shorts a wardrobe basic? Well I’d have to say a basic is anything you can get base your outfit on and get a lot of wears out of. So yes, faux leather shorts actually make a great spring basic!
And I’ve actually styled them twice in this post alone, so you might get the idea that I’ve been wearing them a lot. They’re a semi trendy piece, but one that’s you can wear with a lot of your existing wardrobe, which makes them a whole lot more versatile.
What was your favourite look out of the bunch?

June 10, 2022Wow, these pieces look amazing! I love when cute pieces are also cheap, but unfortunately brands like SHEIN are so bad in regards to the environment, workers’ rights, etc. I stopped ordering there and started thrifting instead. So many great finds!!
Lots of love,
