Spring Drugstore Favourite Products
Neutrogena Bright Boost Serum
The Neutrogena Bright Boost Line is a new skincare for millennials that recently launched this year. It’s targeted for post acne stage skin where wrinkles aren’t a concern quite yet, and helps with the fist signs of aging like dark spots, fine lines and dull skin.
The Bright Boost line a 4 piece collection with an exfoliator, serum, moisturizer and SPF, and so far my favourite has been the Bright Boost Serum. The active ingredient Neoglucosamine, which is a building block of skin’s natural hyaluronic acid, which attracts and holds moisture, as well as helps smooth the skin.
The Bright Boost Serum has the highest concentration of the Neoglucosamine and is designed to even out skin tone and texture, while adding radiance and boosting cell turnover by 10x . I love the lightweight texture of the serum and the immediate glow it gives my skin when I use it.
L’Oreal Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation
The Age Perfect makeup line is for mature skin and includes serum concealers, smoothing foundations, creamy blushes, and hydrating lipsticks. Having quite dry skin myself I found that this line was a good match for my skin type as well, since it gives a boost of hydration and luminosity to the skin.
The L’oreal Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation blends skincare with makeup with a formula enriched with hydrating serum and Vitamin B3. If found it covered flawlessly while feeling light as air on my skin. It does a wonderful job evening out skin tone and smoothing skin without settling into fine lines. And for less than $20, I found the quality to be very comparable to some more my more expensive beauty counter foundation.
L’Oreal Age Perfect Satin Glide Eyeliner
The Satin Glide Eyeliner is another item from the L’oreal Age Perfect lineup that I’m loving. I’m a liquid liner kinda girl and often find pencil liners are too dry and tug on the skin around my eyes. But like it’s name, the Age Perfect Satin Glide Eyeliner glides on smoothly and evenly. It also has a gentle, waterproof formula that uses mineral pigments which is great for my sensitive (and watery) eyes.
Catrice Lip Scrub and Balm & Lip Plumping Mask
Now it’s time for some lip TLC! The Catrice Lip Scrub and Balm & Lip Plumping Mask are 2 products that are a must after a long winter of dry chapped lips.
The Lip Sugar Scrub And Balm is a gently scrub with sugar peeling particles to helps get rid of dry skin while the balm returns hydration. I love how gentle it is and doesn’t leave behind that uncomfortable residue that many lip scrubs do. I love using it to prepping my lips before applying lipstick, especially matte ones.
The Lip Plumping Mask is another favourite of mine and a great treat for the lips. It has a rich texture that formulated with hyaluronic acid to create an instant plumping effect. I love how smooth it makes my lips feel and have been using it nightly as a treatment for my lips before bed time.
Lise Watier Sublimessence Probiotic Serum
As you might have noticed, I’m all about hydration this season, so it’s no surprise I’m loving the Sublimessence Probiotic Serum. This serum balances and strengthens skin’s natural protective barrier with probiotics to balances skin flora and hyalauronic acid to plump and hydrate.
Burt’s Bees Hand Cream Orange Blossom & Pistachio
My face isn’t the only thing that’s dry after a long winter. Burt’s Bees Hand Cream with Shea Butter provides all day moisture for my dry hands, and the fresh scent is like a dose of aromatherapy that calms my senses. I also love that it come in such a handy size that makes it handy for my purse and travel.
Haircare – Spring Beauty Favourites
Joico Hydrasplash Shampoo and Conditioner
I have fine hair that also needs hydration, and for the longest time I struggled. Hydrating shampoo and conditioner formulas weighed down my hair, and fine hair formula were often too drying. The Joico Hydrasplash line is especially made for fine-to-medium hair gets thirsty without making it fall flat.
I found the Hydrasplash Shampoo and Conditioner formula gentle for my fine hair without stripping much-needed natural moisture and left it clean, soft, and looking healthy. It was the perfect balance between hydration and lift for me and I’d highly recommend it to those with fine hair too!
AG HAIR Slip Dry Oil Spray
I was skeptical to even trying this out at first, just because oil usually just weighs down my fine hair. But the AG HAIR Slip Dry Oil Spray, did an amazing job smoothing and softening my dry hair. I used about 3-4 spritz on my hair while it was still wet and I was seriously impressed with how shiny and beautiful it was once I blow dried it.
This vegan, lightweight dry oil spray disperses a fine mist on hair to instantly add smoothness and shine. and contains Vitamin C (one of my fave skincare ingredients) to help strengthen hair as well.
Monat Studio One Hair Spray
This Monat Studio One Hair Spray is definitely a splurge, but worth it. It provides a combination of texture, volume and natural shine and makes my hairstyle last all day long. What I love most is that my hair still feel touchable and brushable. Plus on humid days it keeps the frizz away, which is a huge bonus because them summers get awfully muggy here in Toronto.

NYX Cosmetics – The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Spellbook Palette & Soft Matte Lips
What can I say, I’ve been obsessed with this palette! I’ve already posted a look from here on Instagram, and have been using it almost daily because it’s so versatile. The variety of shades are perfect for every occasion, from lunch hour to happy hour and it’s pretty much everything I need to do my whole face in one palette.
I love how bendable and pigmented the shadows are which make them amazing for creating smokey eyes. And though I typically stick to neutrals I found even the more colourful shades to be very wearable and provided a tinge of colour and depth.
I’ve also been loving the Soft Matte Lippies, they’re ultra creamy and create a beautiful matte finish that’s smooth and non drying on the lips.
Nina Ricci Rouge Pefume
The Nina Ricci Rouge Perfume launched last year and has a refreshing fruity, floral scent which makes it perfect for the spring. It comes in the the classic Nina Ricci apple shape, but in a luxurious red opaque bottle with a bite taken out of it which gives is a very Snow White fairy tale feel.
The scent is feminine and sweet, but has a fresh citrus touch that makes me love it so much. It’s great for daily wear and not overpowering, and instantly puts me in a good mood with it’s sweet, fruity scent.
Burt’s Bees Cosmetic Collection
I’ve been trying out some of the new Burt’s Bees cosmetic collection and loving their makeup as well as their natural approach to beauty that’s cruelty free and socially responsible.
I’ve been Goodness Glows Tinted Moisturizer daily and it’s amazing for creating that no-makeup look to even out my skintone and actually keep my skin hydrated and supple though the day. It’s packed with antioxidants and vitamins to protect and nourish the skin.
Another favourite of mine is the Burt‘s Bees Lip Gloss that’s ultra hydrating and enriched with avocado oil to keep my lips soft all day long!
