Summer is the season for picnics! And what better than a cute summer dress to wear on a picnic!
I’ll be honest, before COVID I didn’t go on many picnics. But since we’re still not doing much vacationing yet, picnics are a great option that’s much closer to home and a lot more accessible.
A nice patch of grass, some snacks, and some good company are all you need appreciate the simple things in life!
So today I thought I’d share some of my favourite summer dresses that would be perfect for picnics!
1. The Babydoll Dress
Like so many other 90’s trends that have made a comeback this year, the babydoll dress is one that I’m loving right now.
It’s the perfect dress for summer picnics – flowy, fun and flirty and looks cute with sneakers and sandals a like.
This one here is form Ever New and probably my most worn dress of the moment. I’ve had on repeat all spring and summer and it’s going strong.
2. The Midi Dress
Midi dresses are comfy, classes and totally versatile. A printed midi dress is my go-to for almost every occasion and that includes summer picnics!
The extra length is nice when you’re sitting and the flowy fabric makes it ideal for those balmy days! I love a good wrap version like this one above that makes it easy to loosen up too if you have one too many snacks.
3. The Mini Dress
It’s not summer without a cute mini dress like this one! Mini’s have been the hemline of choice this season, and after a year in sweatpants it’s nice to feel the sun on your skin.
4. The Slip Dress
The slip dress another Y2K trend that’s back! It’s perfect piece for working on your tan in on those summer picnics.
Of course, I’m all about the floral prints, but there are some really cute silky slinky ones out there too that make are great for a day to night transition.
5. Milk Maid Dresses
Milkmaid dresses are utterly romantic and perfect for summer picnics. With puff sleeves, slender bodices, sweetheart and square necklines, a little ruffle, they’re basically what summer picnic dreams are made of.
