It’s been a very long time since I’ve been on a real vacation and this would be my FIRST out-of-country vacation with boyfriend (recently turned fiancee! ) We travelled to NYC during fashion week, then spent 8 days cruising the beautiful tropical Caribbean waters, stopping in San Juan Puerto Rico, St. Thomas USVI, and Grand Turk!
This first set of vacation pictures were taken in Grand Turk. The natural beauty of the beach and ocean was simply stunning! The sand was so soft and white sand and waters were crystal clear and pleasantly warm to swim in. We only had 6 hours to spend here, so we spent half the time was spent on the beach and playing in the water, and the other half, driving dune buggies around the tiny island.
These shots below are taken in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. I am in love with the fun, colorful architecture and the traditional cobble stone roads. There’s so much interesting history here, I will definitely be back for a longer stay one day. On the bottom left is the traditional Puerto Rican dish, Mofongo. It’s tasty fried plantain-based dish that’s simply a must-try!
Now on the boat is where the party is! We were cruising on Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Splendor. The cruise ship was just massive with endless things to do, and of course lots and lots of food! Here’s a pic of the back of the boat full of sun loungers, hot tubs and a pool.
Here are a few photos from NYC, while we only spent a day and half here, I felt like we did so much. We rode on the double decker busses, and shopped around the city. Below is a panorama of Time’s Square at night, along with some other little clips of the city.
Last but not least, I’d like to share that my long time boyfriend made a romantic surprise proposal while we were on our vacation. After a day of shopping and sightseeing in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he proposed to me at sunset in a park overlooking the water. It was just perfect in every way!
