A roundup of the best places to shop online for ethical and sustainable clothing brands. From affordable to high end, this round up has a little bit of everything so you can do good for the world while staying on budget.
One of my goals for this year is to be more sustainable and conscious in my lifestyle and with my purchases. This includes being less wasteful, eating less meat, consuming less, and making more thoughtful purchases from slow fashion and ethical & sustainable clothing brands.
In recent years, I’ve become increasingly more conscious about my purchases. And as much as I love fast fashion and trendy clothing, I come to understand the implications on the environment it causes.
With fast fashion, the reduction in costs and production time often means environmental corners are cut in the name of profit. Such as the includes the use of cheap, toxic textile dyes that can pollute the environment. Plus, with the speed at which garments are produced, this also means that more and more clothes are disposed of by consumers, creating a huge amount of textile waste.
“Every time you spend money, you’re casting a vote for the kind of world you want.”
Anna Lappe
As consumers, we can channel our buying power to make a positive difference for the people involved in the making of our clothes and goods.
In a response to that, dozens of slow fashion sustainable brands have emerged in the last few years that are dedicated to ethical practices and a transparent way of production that considers both people and the planet.
So in this roundup, I’m sharing 20+ ethical and sustainable clothing brands that make clothing that’s made to last in a way that’s mindful to the environment and the people who make the garments.
And to make things a little easier, I’ve added a pricing guide along with summary to so you can easily find the right brands for your budget and style!
