A roundup of my favourite budget friendly sweaters under $40 that will keep you cozy while looking cute!
Sweater weather is better weather. That’s what they say at least. And though I can’t say I agree, I can definitely believe that sweaters do make the cold weather a lot more tolerable.
For three quarters of the year, I practically live in sweaters. From fall to spring they’re a daily staple. So having a good collection of them is a must. Especially if you’re in living in a cooler climate like myself.
In this roundup I’m sharing some of my favourite budget friendly sweaters that a cozy cute, and comfy!

10 Sweaters Under $40
In this roundup you’ll find my most loved, most worn, budget-friendly sweaters. If you’re looking for sweaters under $40, you won’t be disappointed.
These sweaters are cozy as much as they’re cute. And for their affordable price tags, you could probably snag a few of them without creating too much of a dent!
Let me know which one is your fave in the comments below!
1. Ruffle Trim Sweater
This ruffle trim sweater is my personal favourite of the moment! It ticks of all boxes: it’s super soft, cozy, uber cute with the ruffle sleeves.
Plus, this cute sweater versatile enough to dress up or down with jeans. And with the price tag of under $15, it’s an automatic add to cart!

2. Button Front Fuzzy Cardigan
I used to think cardigans looked so frumpy, but this past season I’ve totally fallen in love with them. And this is just one of my favourites!
I’ve had this fuzzy ribbed cardigan on high rotation since fall. I’m all about fuzzy knits, and this one is uber soft and non itchy! Plus, I love how the cropped hem gives it a more modern look. This sweater was just under $30!
3. Colour Block Chevron Sweater
The color block sweater trend is still going strong! And I recently added this chevron colour block sweater to my collection.
It has a bit of an oversized fit which is great for more casual days. This one comes in 5 different colour patterns and coming in at $25 is a must-have for every day.
4. Pompom Heart Sweater
This pompom heart sweater reminds me of grandmother and the sweaters she used to knit for me, so of course I had to have it.
The original popcorn cardy was what got me interested in this sweater. But at the time, I still wasn’t a fan of cardigans, so I was so happy to find a similar sweater version with a much more friendly price tag of $30!
5. Turtleneck Bell Sleeve Sleeve
This sweater is the perfect every day sweater. It’s soft and comfy, and looks as good with jeans as it does with skirts!
6. Turtleneck Sweater dress
I’ve been loving turtlenecks during the colder winter season. They eliminate my need for a scarf which is great because I often find that they get caught or tangled in my hair.
Having a sweater dress in your wardrobe is a must for the cold weather season. They’re easy to dress up or down, and add some extra coziness with the extra length.
This one is super thick and cozy too. And when it comes to quality, it’s comparable to some of my $80+ sweaters. I’d say that this one is definitely worth the buy.
7. Mock Neck Ribbed Sweater
This is my most worn sweater of all time. With its mock neck it provides added warmth while being comfortable. Plus I find it super flattering with the ribbing and fitted cut. I also love the button detailing on the sleeves which just adds a little more something.
This sweater is a legit closet staple for me. I love how goes with practically everything! Which is why you’ll catch me wearing it with everything from dress pants to skirts.
8. Puff Sleeve Cardigan
This sweater is one of the cutest cardigans I own. And I always get a ton of compliments when I wear it out.
These ultra puff sleeves make you feel like your wearing a blanket. Plus it’s the perfect coverup for dresses and camis.
9. Fuzzy Knit Cardigan
Like I said earlier, I just can’t get enough of cardies these days.
I love how this pink fuzzy cardigan can be worn on it’s own as a top (as I’ve done here), or as a layering piece as well.
The fabric of this cardigan is so luxe and thick, while being oh so soft. And you’d never guess that this sweater was under $40!
10. Long Leopard Cardigan
This leopard cardigan has been one of my favourite layering pieces this season. It’s lightweight and airy, which makes it perfect for spring & fall.
I love how throwing on this cardigan is perfect for adding a little flare to any outfit!
