I feel like I’ve been doing an awful lot of shopping lately. I’d like to say it’s mainly because of the new home. But taking looking at my list, it’s quite an assortment of items so I can’t blame it on that.
I do have to say they’re all pretty practical items. Some are everyday clothing basics, a couple beauty items, along with quite a few home and decor things, and okay, maybe just one frivolous thing. Let me know if you can pick out which one it is out of the bunch!
1. Mid Century Style Desk
After working on the kitchen table for the past 8 months I finally purchased a real desk to work on!
For my new office, I chose this white mid century style desk with brass nobs. It has a fairly minimalist design, but is also practical with 4 drawers so hide away papers, stationary and little things out of sight.
I purchased it from Wayfair and I’m overall very happy with it! The only thing was that it came in something like 100 pieces, so it was a bit a chore to put together. (Thanks to hubby for spending the whole afternoon on it!)
2. The ’90s Cheeky Jean
These 90’s cheeky jeans from Evelane has quickly become my favourite pair of jeans. I have them in the blue colour above, but they also come in 10+ colours and I’m probably going to get another pair soon!
If you’re nervous to try out straight leg jeans, these are the perfect straight-leg/skinny hybrid.
They’re really well made and super comfy. It’s a high rise jean that doesn’t suffocate you when you sit down. (Anyone else have this problem?)
Plus, they look really cute in the butt and have the perfect amount of give.
3. Ficus Lyrata Bambino Plant
I had a drawf ficus before and adored it! Unfortunate my puppy also took a liking to it. And you can guess how the story ends.
I haven’t gotten any new plants in while, so to celebrate our new home I bought this little guy.
My last one was super finicky on where I placed it, so I’m hoping this will enjoy it’s new home sitting on my desk in my office!
4. Magnetic Eyelashes from Amazon
After months of lockdown where I wasn’t able to get my lash extensions, I decided to try out magnetic lashes.
Instead of your traditional falsies that are held on by glue, these magnetic lashes have little magnets on it that adhere to the magnetized liquid eye liner.
I love the concept of it, but I found old fashion falsies with lash glue were just easier for me.
However, if you’re new to using false lashes, these lashes would be great because it can be tricky to get the placement just right. With these magnetic lashes, they literally snap into place when you place them close to the liner.
I was impressed with how well they stayed on throughout the day. But the magnetic liner was a bit stubborn to get off.
Also, you can use them almost indefinitely too since you’re not getting gunky glue on them too!
I loved how this magnetic lash set came with 5 different styles as well as 2 bottles of eyeliner, and a pair of tweezers for application as well. Plus for the $25 price tag, it was definitely worth the try.
Dog water bowl from Amazon
With our new home being 5 floors, I noticed my puppy wasn’t drinking as much water with it being on the main floor.
Since we’re mostly on the 3rd or 4th floor, where our offices and bedroom are, and she just wasn’t making the trip downstairs. So with it being summer, we decided to make sure she had a water bowl on each floor so she wouldn’t have to make a trip down every time.
I found this cute water bowl that sits on an elevated gold stand and thought it would be perfect for my office (and match my new desk). As she often spends most of her day with me there.
Biolumen-C Vitamin C Serum
The Biolumen-C Vitamin C Serum from Dermalogica my favourite vitamin C. I’ve tried a lot of vitamin C serums, but find the formula for this one is suits my skin and my needs the best.
I find a lot of vitamin c serums just doesn’t layer well with other skincare products and makeup. But this one is great!
It’s super lightweight, wears well under makeup, and really keeps my skin fresh and glowing. This has consistently been a repeat buy skincare product for me!
Here’s a post where I do a deep dive on vitamin C serums and give a thorough review on the Bio-Lumen C Serum as well.
Bikini Set from Amazon
It’s super cute and flattering. The top is comfy to wear and not too revealing, but still looks great on. The bottom is a bit on the cheeky side but I don’t mind it much since the high waist makes it more flattering.
Free People Bralette Dupes
I pretty much live in bralettes now. And these SHEIN bralettes are amazing Free People dupes that I like even better than the originals!
The lace is stretchy and not itchy and the pads are a little thicker than the originals. Plus the straps don’t dig in either.
These lace bralettes look super cute with sheer tops and you just feel pretty wearing them!
They have 9000+ reviews and almost a 5 start rating. And for just $12 for a set of 2 you really can’t go wrong!
Space Saving Tier Pants/Skirts Hangers
Closet space is premium real estate. And individual hangers take up so much room! I got these tiered pants/skirt hangers and they are such a space saver!
I got the set of 6, and use them to store all my pants and skirts, and now they us only a fraction of the space they used to.
And because they’re tiered you can see all your items from one side. So you can easily find what you’re looking for too.
Large Two Toned Woven Basket
Okay, this purchase is so fresh I’m still waiting for this to arrive. But I felt okay posting it because it has almost 5 stars in reviews.
I love the look of this large woven two toned rope basket. And I’m planning to use it for laundry, but it would be a great storage basket as well.
It’s machine washable and has handles on it which makes it easy to lug up and down stairs. This basket holds 105L which is a lot of laundry (or anything else). And the $30 price tag makes my wallet happy!
Tell me which purchase was your of the bunch
