The Pink trend is real. And it’s everywhere these days. It seems like the fashion world is obsessed with pink right now. The Spring/Summer runways had every shade of pink, from neons and fuschias to dusty roses and muted blushes. Big name brands like Balenciaga, Celine and Chanel have all embraced the hue, and Gucci and Valentino have even showcased all-pink collections. It’s a great time to be girly girl.
Lately, I’ve been finding a lot of pink sneaking into my wardrobe. I’m generally more of a blues and neutrals girl, but lately more and more pink pieces have been popping up in my closet. It’s quite the irresistible color. I’ve come to the conclusion I’m an accidental pink lover. I don’t intentionally look for pink clothes to buy, yet I end up with so many in my closet, like this pink lace pompon dress from Shein.
I’m pretty obsessed with this pink lace dress at the moment and have already worn it twice since getting it last week. It incorporates all the things a girly girly would love: lace, pompoms, bell sleeves, and of course, it’s the perfect shade of pink. The lace design is so beautiful and the pompoms at the hem gives it a playful touch. But the best part about this dress is the price, it’s only $24! It’s such a steal, I would have probably paid $100 for something of similar quality elsewhere.
Tips for Shopping at Shein.com
Lately I’ve had quite a few people ask me about Shein.com and the quality of their clothes. If you’re not familiar with them, Shein an online retailer for fast fashions. I have a few pieces of clothing from them, overall it has been a good experience for me. But it can be hit or miss depending on the items you buy. Some of their clothing like this pink lace pom pom dress is made with quality materials and well worth it, but other items may have poor quality or fit. Here are a few tips to help you get the most of out of shopping with them:
1. Double check the size chart
Sometimes their sizing is different than standard sizing, make sure double check the size chart for your measurements. I would say most of the items I’ve purchased are fairly true to size, when going by their size chart.
2. Check out the photos and reviews
Shein allows their customers to write reviews and upload photos, and many customers do. Take advantage of this and read the reviews and look at the photos. It will give you a better idea of what you’re getting, how it fits, and the quality of the clothes. The photos will allow you to see the fit of the clothes on a real body and how the material looks when worn. If you stick to items that have generally good reviews, you’re usually pretty safe on quality side.
Most of the clothes that are $20-25 and up and these items generally made with decent quality materials. But you’ll find some tops for as low as $4, so you can probably imaging the quality of those items won’t be so great. You get what you pay for. This isn’t always the case, but I find it to be generally true.
