As my first winter in Toronto began, I was is total awe of how cold it could get. I suppose I will always be a west coast girl at heart, and these freezing temperatures were a difficult adjustment. When me and my fiancée saw the opportunity to make an escape to some sunnier skies and warmer temperatures, we took it. We made some last minute plans for a getaway to Fort Lauderdale and cruised the western Caribbean for 6 days stopping in Grand Cayman and Cozumel.
My vacation started with 2 days in Fort Lauderdale. The sunshine and quiet beach time was just what I needed to recharge. We stayed at the Bahia Mar Resort Hotel, conveniently located across the street from the Fort Lauderdale Beach Park. It was a perfect location, being right on the beach and just up the street from the main boardwalk. I was ready to retire here and never leave!
Here are some fun pics from Cozumel, Mexico. We watched the sunset from a catamaran after a beach day excursion to Isla Pasion. And here I am being a tourist in some silly oversized boots.More palm trees and resort pics. Of course I had to do a hot dog legs pic! Here’s the marina from our balcony. So pretty! A shot of the cruise ship at port in Mexico. We we spent 6 days on the Carnival Freedom.Me and my fiancée, sadly this is the only pic we have together the whole vacation 🙁
A little towel animal from the cruise ship.
The vacation was lovely, but it always feels good to be home,
even if it is 10 degrees below zero.

December 20, 2013I wish I never left! I wind burned my face like 2 weeks ago and I am on a constant hunt for moisturizers.
