For long time, my office clothes were my office clothes and weekend clothes were my weekend clothes. It was like I lived two separate lives with two different wardrobes, one for work week and another for the the weekend. I would hardly never mix the two, much less consider wearing them on the opposite days. But with the the demands of life getting busier than ever, who has time to run home and change after work? I know that I certainly don’t.
Modern work wear change so much in the last few years. No longer is it confined to the traditional black pencil skirt and blazer. More variety in colours, fabrics, and cuts allow have allowed work wear to be more fun and flexible, as well as wearable outside of the office environment. Today I’ve teamed up Ann Taylor to show 2 looks that both office appropriate and fun for the weekend with some versatile pieces that can take you from lunch hour to happy hour without missing a beat.
Workwear to Weekend Look #1
Nothing says work wear like a chic smart suit. This suit is not only looks perfect for the office, but is part of Ann Taylor’s bi-stretch collection that’s made with 4 way wear stretch material, so it’s both comfy as pyjamas and holds it’s shape all day long without wrinkling or tugging.
While this suit looks polished and proper for the office, the herringbone pattern and black crochet trim add a playful touch to the suit, plus both pieces versatile enough to wear as separates, as well as together. In this post, I’ve styled this suit to make it a weekend-worthy look by pairing it with some white sneakers, backpack, tank, and some fun coloured glasses from Dresden eyewear for a fun weekend brunch look!

Workwear to Weekend Look #2
In this next look, I’m wearing a printed pleated skirt from Ann Taylor’s Spring snakeskin collection and a blazer jacket from their suiting collection. I love this skirt so much, and even though it has a snakeskin print that’s so trendy right now, Ann Taylor has made is so wearable for the office by giving it a softer mute tone. I could easily see myself wearing this skirt and blazer to the office with some classic pumps and slick pony tail for a work day. But to make it little more fun for the weekend, I changed up my accessories by adding a bow tie cute headband, straw basket bag and some mules for a more laid back look.

I love how by making some small changes to my wardrobe along with the help of accessories, different fabrics, and mixing and matching pieces has allowed me to unite my work wear and weekend wardrobes. It’s really allowed me to pull together a look that’s more balance and consistent, as well as allows me to get more wears out out of the clothes I have. Don’t forget to visit Ann Taylor to shop for versatile work to weekend pieces to add to your wardrobe for this season.
