Easy Leopard Print Nails Tutorial

Leopard Prints have been trending for so many seasons, I think they’re starting to become a classic. I’m going to show you how easy it is to create a leopard print on your nails!  The best part of this design is that it doesn’t need to be perfect. Each leopard print is a little random and unique, so this is something everyone can do!

Step by Step Tutorial for Leopard Print Nail Art

1. Start off with 2 coats of your background color polish. Wait a few minutes so the surface is dry to touch.
2. Let’s do some practice!  Put a drop of black nail polish on some paper and use a dotting tool to practice making some leopard spots. No dotting tool? No problem! Find a toothpick and now you have a disposable dotting tool!  If you’re using a toothpick, you may want to make the end a little more blunt by pressing the tip against a hard surface. This will give your more surface area for the nail polish to hold on to. To make the spots, draw out a small “c” shapes on some paper. Then draw a backwards “c” to create a spot.  They dont need to be perfect. In fact, I think they look more realistic when they’re lopsided!
3. Once you’re comfortable drawing them on paper, it’s time to draw them on your  nails. Just remember the surface of your nails will be smoother than the paper, so it may be a little slippery! I’ve decided just to line the the tips and one edge of my nails with the leopard print. You can go ahead and paint them on the whole nail if you like. Once you’ve finish painting them on the nails nails give 5-10 minutes to let it dry a little.
4. Next take new color (gold in my case) and make another drop on the piece of paper.  Take your practice paper and  fill in the black spots you drew for practice with your dotting tool or toothpick. Once again, no perfection required! For bigger spots make the gold centers more like a tiny figure 8, and for smaller spots you can simply make an “o”.
5. Patience is key! Once you finished all your leopard spots you’ll want to protect them with a top coat. But wait! Make sure you wait for them to dry or they’ll streak and ruin all your hard work. Just a reminder when you do nail art it always takes longer to dry than when you paint your whole nail a solid color. So I would wait at least 15 minutes before applying your top coat.
