DIY Dog Game: Muffin Tin Hide & Seek

DIY dog games are a great way to keep your furry friend entertained and to stimulate their mind.

This muffin tin hide and seek game is a fun activity you can play with your dog anytime. It only requires a few simple materials,  all of which you probably already have around your home. 

This activity is a great DIY dog brain game, as it puts their keen sense of smell to use, combined with motor skills to knock the balls away get to the treat. It’s a mind stimulating game that your pooch will love to play with you.

DIY dog brain game materials

• One standard Muffin tin (these silicon ones are great as don’t slide around as much)
• Dog treats – my favourite are these low calorie beefy training treats 
• A dozen tennis balls

Directions to setting up your DIY Dog Game – Muffin Tin Hide & Seek

Step 1: Prepare muffin tin
Prepare your muffin tin by making sure it is clean and break your treats into a few small pieces.  Then place a couple of them in the muffin tin randomly.

Step 2: Hide the treats
Place your tennis balls in the muffin cups to cover the treats and hide them from sight.

Step 3: Let your dog  sniff it out!  
Place the muffin it in front of your dog and let’em start to sniff around.  When they realize a yummy treat is hiding under the ball, they’ll have to figure out how to knock the dog balls out of the muffin tin to get the treat!
