This muffin tin hide and seek game is a fun activity you can play with your dog anytime. It only requires a few simple materials, all of which you probably already have around your home.
This activity is a great DIY dog brain game, as it puts their keen sense of smell to use, combined with motor skills to knock the balls away get to the treat. It’s a mind stimulating game that your pooch will love to play with you.
Best of all, this clever little DIY dog game takes only a minute to set up and costs almost nothing at all. Your dog will find this game fun and entertaining while putting their mind to use. Keep reading for all detailed instructions on how to play!
DIY dog brain game materials
- One standard Muffin tin (these silicon ones are great as don’t slide around as much)
- Dog treats – my favourite are these low calorie beefy training treats
- A dozen tennis balls
Directions to setting up your DIY Dog Game – Muffin Tin Hide & Seek
Step 1: Prepare muffin tin
Prepare your muffin tin by making sure it is clean and break your treats into a few small pieces. Then place a couple of them in the muffin tin randomly.
Step 2: Hide the treats
Place your tennis balls in the muffin cups to cover the treats and hide them from sight.
Step 3: Let your dog sniff it out!
Place the muffin it in front of your dog and let’em start to sniff around. When they realize a yummy treat is hiding under the ball, they’ll have to figure out how to knock the dog balls out of the muffin tin to get the treat!
